Vandalize: To deface or destroy ...willfully or maliciously, but usually not motivated by humor.

When I was in my 20's, someone broke into my place and stole my 'boom box'.  The youth of today may not know what cassette tapes are ...as it puts us somewhere between 8-track and CDs, but many of my cassettes the were next to my 'boom box' were stolen too.

I felt invaded every moment I sat within my house, wondering whether what happened once, could be repeated again.  Was it an organized sweep of vandalizing an area, a random job, or could it had been a neighbor who'd cased the probable advantage.

I didn't know all the neighbors, and had begun to allow uncomfortable feelings to dominate my days and nights ...wondering whether one of them had done it.  It was becoming worse, and I decided I didn't want to live that way ...being suspicious of people.
